NurtureShock on The View, Fresh Air, and in The Daily Beast

Several big hits this week - we're told the Fresh Air interview is running today (we will try to come back later with a link.) The hosts of The View talked about NurtureShock for several minutes yesterday, here's that link. And esteemed literary critic John Marshall writes about our interview on The Daily Beast.

Hi Po, and Ashley too--
I KNEW you'd see that DoubleX post. I hope you took away that I've also loved your book, which I'm still reading. That was my second post that tied into it (, and oh, how I've resented, in a much smaller forum, what you taught me about tattling ( Damn you both for helping me be a better parent.

I'd love to see you two address the marshmallow question. Wouldn't the hope be that your kid could lead life in a Tools way and turn on the marshmallow resistors when she needed it?

I just finished your book. A great read with so much to digest and reflect on. I'm wondering why you didn't include research on the differences between kids who are raised primarily by a parent vs. those who spend much of their day outside the home with another caregiver or in daycare. I think we skirt around this issue way too much. If we can look at issues of race head on, why not this issue? I'm not interested in justifying my choices in life (I've been both a stay-at-home and working mother). I would just really love to see the research you mention broken down into types of parenting these children receive.
